What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a natural and holistic therapy whereby finger pressure is applied to the client's ears, hands, and/or feet.

From a reflexologist’s perspective, all of the organs, systems and glands of the body can be mapped onto areas of the ear, hand, and foot called reflex points. A reflexologist knows how to stimulate the reflex points in order to bring about a response in the corresponding part of the body. The use of these reflex points helps the body to restore its balance naturally.

Reflexology may be effective for many conditions including:

  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Back pain
  • Breathing disorders
  • Chronic illness
  • Depression
  • Digestive disorders
  • Fertility issues
  • Headaches
  • Pain relief
  • Sleep disorders
  • Stress and stress-related conditions

Do I need Reflexology?

Everyone may benefit from reflexology: women, men, children and the elderly.

Are there the risks?

Reflexology helps nature to normalize body functions. It will not make any condition more acute. It is a safe, effective way to better health and helps clear the energy flow of the body.

What should I expect?

Most people find reflexology to be very relaxing and of great benefit in managing stress. If the pressure exerted during a reflexology treatment feels too deep, clear communication between patient and therapist should allow for care that is within ones comfort zone. Some areas may be tender or sore, and the therapist may spend extra time on these points. The soreness should decrease with pressure and be more manageable with consistent care.
